Jul. 14th, 2008 09:50 pmYou may remember that a while back, Joe Flanigan reported at a con that he likes to throw David Hewlett off his game while shooting with random remarks, like, say, "I love you, Dr. McKay"?
I resolved to get David's response to this at Shore Leave, and asked to capture him on video uttering, "I love you, John Sheppard". He agreed, but with reservations...
The random background noise is the people after me in line heckling him, with my editorial comments for added effect.
I did what I could for the cause. Hope you enjoy!

Jul. 14th, 2008 12:19 amGreetings to friends old and new, especially my Shore Leave peeps!
I made it back to Richmond in excellent time. There was one egregious gaper's block right around DC (ooo! Bright shiny lights! Must slow down to gawk!), but that only took 20 minutes or so to clear up. Since my arrival, I have been most excellently fed and allowed to babble on. Luckily, my hosting friends are Firefly fans, so at least the Jewel Staite stories had some relevance.
I haven't even tried to see how backed up my flist is at this point; I'm guessing it's going to be a matter of several weeks to straighten it all out.
So anyway, feel free to tell me the important news I may have missed since Wednesday night. Oh, and Shore Leavers? If you're reading this, I'm hoping to get at least a sampling of stuff up tomorrow night when I'm back home, but in the meantime, if you want to leave a note here, that would beawesomestupendous, as I've got a bad case of swiss cheese brain, the holes of which most of your names have slipped through. (Obviously, I'll never forget my roomies! And the friending helped, too. *grin*)
Man, I am so tempted to take Tuesday off as well, just to recover. Perhaps I should start practicing my fake sick cough now. *coff*coff* Hm.

May. 19th, 2008 04:42 pmI was just cruising the Shore Leave website, only to find that there's been a change in the guest list.
"Due to professional commitments Adam Baldwin has had to cancel his appearance at Shore Leave. We are happy to announce that Jewel Staite from Firefly and Stargate Atlantis has agreed to attend. Welcome Jewel!"
While it would have been fun to see Adam Baldwin in action ("Firefly", "Angel", and "Chuck" dirt!), I think having Jewel there might almost be better. I'm sure it won't take much for her to dish on her costars, especially Nathan Fillion and David Hewlett.
Oh, plus...Leah Cairns, aka Racetrack on BSG! I can't wait to hear her stories.
If anyone wants signed pictures from any of the guests, including the authors, let me know.
