Evidently ABC has uncurdled their Scrooge McAsshole hearts just enough to let us see the last three episodes of 'Pushing Daisies'. This is no way makes up for canceling the show, but it's some small relief.

In other news, Tahmoh Penikett has been cast in 'Riverworld', one of several SciFi "upcoming movie events that will serve as trials for possible new series". I guess this means he's potentially covered if 'Dollhouse' is canceled. At the very least, more Tahmoh on my small screen! \o/ I must admit, though, that I really didn't like the series it's based on - sorry if that makes me a bad sci-fi fan.

Speaking of bad sci-fi...I just stumbled across a wonderful fanfic set in the Buckaroo Banzai universe, Buckaroo Banzai and the Floydada Scuffle. If you loved the movie half as much as I did, go read it. (I completely did not know that the creators had come out with new adventures as well. Now to track those down...)

In a matter of hours (technically, tomorrow morning), I will be shucking off my responsibilities as a mom, wife, and programmer, and heading up to Chicagoland for a Battlestar Galactica/Star Wars/Star Trek convention.

The fates, perhaps predicting how craptacular the past couple of weeks would be, conspired to have Jamie Bamber cancel and Tahmoh Penikett take his place. Other guests include Katee Sackhoff, Jonathan Frakes, and Marina Sirtis.

As a result, sometime this weekend, I get to meet one of my celebrity boyfriends! Happy doesn't even begin to describe my emotional level right now. (Of course, first I have to wade through all the stress of prepping to leave and planning for every eventuality.)

Dinner time, and then packing!
