My fabulous fangirl friend [personal profile] cee_m and her peeps [livejournal.com profile] editorzon and [livejournal.com profile] sabrinagb are working to put together an amazing bandom shindig in LA:

It's going to combine the awesome of going to conventions with the awesome of attending concerts. This first year we are looking to have a 100 - 200 person con in Los Angeles. We are looking for your input about how things should roll, what/who you want to see, etc. If you could fill out this short 14 question survey that would be AMAZING!

Their survey is here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/5DDC8BH.

Any and all feedback you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I'm going to the Stargate con in Vancouver to see the Hewletts and my fangirl peeps, WAHOOOOOOO!!!! And some other stars too, I suppose. ;)

I've been obsessing over it so hard, you don't even know. (Except maybe a couple of you, like [livejournal.com profile] mercury973, who's gotten about 50 emails from me - sorry!)

The sticking point has been the airfare. I live within driving distance of a bunch of airports, but what with gas prices rising faster than Atlantis from the sea bottom plus post-con fatigue, I didn't want to drive more than an hour or so.

But today, oh frabjous day, I scored a flight for almost $100 cheaper than I've been seeing, with reasonable departure times. (The flights will be looooong, but that's what portable electronics are for, right?)

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

Now I have to get cracking on a vid. I have no idea why Creation needs 40 days to review submitted entries, other than their general policy to screw with people.

Who's going? Who has tickets for what? Who knows the best places to stalk for cheap gold tickets? Oh, and who still has space in their hotel room? I swear I'm an excellent roommate. *grin*

The two-month countdown begins!

If only all Mondays could be this cool...

The husband called me earlier today to let me know that the company that he submitted an application for almost a freaking MONTH ago finally called him to set up a helpdesk aptitude test for later this week. He would be so perfect for this job that it's just amazing. Plus, he hasn't been this excited about a job opening since I can't even remember. Please send out the good juju for him on Wednesday.

I should mention that aside from a few assignments for a crappy consulting company (who still owe him a goddamn paycheck from last year), he's effectively been out of work for 4 years. If he were to get this job, my life would be about 3000 percent better. So yeah, wish him/us luck.

To add to the excitement, I just found out that Ben Browder is planning on attending the Stargate Creation Con in August. In Chicago. So I don't have to fly to Burbank in November to see him in person. (Which would make flying to Maryland in July to see David Hewlett at Shore Leave financially possible. Con slut, baybee!) And yes, I am fully aware of how lame I am that this news makes me just as happy as the former. (Getting the job will, however, rank above getting my hands on Ben Browder. So please don't fuck with me, Fate.)

So yeah, I'm sorry if I ruptured your ears with the SQUEEEEEEEEs that involuntarily escaped me today.
