When the Emperor sleeps in on the weekends, it's always an ill omen of things to come, and sure enough, this past Sunday was pukies-and-listless. Then last night, the evil stomach bug leapt over to me. Yeah, I needed a day off, but this was not was you would call relaxing. Considering that I'm taking off Friday to go to a convention with friends, I don't know if I can get away with calling in sick tomorrow, too, especially because of the two projects currently in QA and testing. *sigh*
On the brighter side...band geeks are AWESOME. We found out at the recent block party that the youngest son of our next-door neighbors came down with a rare infection that's hammering at his kidneys. He should make a full recovery, but it's going to take a long time. In the interim, he's being home-schooled. Well, today the husband and I heard some very loud music coming from out front, only to find the marching band peforming on the neighbors' lawn for him. (His sister is a color-guard instructor, so she's got something of an in.) How cool is that? I may have gotten a little weepy, due entirely to the illness, of course.
