It's not pneumonia...yet?

Today I visited the walk-in clinic for the third time; my ongoing wheezing and shortness of breath evidently caught their attention this time and they sent me in for chest x-rays. They said it doesn't look like pneumonia, but the fact that I'm not getting better is not good, so I have a new fistful of meds and an appointment with a pulmonologist next week. Yay!

But on the good side, with all the time I've had to take off work, I was able to finish and submit both my extra Festivids. I'm breathing easier, at least metaphorically. Sitting around tomorrow and binging on everyone's vids sounds like a perfect way to spend the day.

Not to sound alarmist, this just reminded me that I was reading an article about the number of pneumonia cases in our area that were actually Legionnaires' disease and misdiagnosed. Scary stuff.

Yikes! That's a little scary. They said my lungs were mostly clear, and I'm already feeling a lot better with the meds (inhaler, prednisone, antibiotics, plus more OTC stuff). This is my current mantra:

I LOVE PREDNISONE
TAKE ANOTHER PILL FOR THE AIRBOX, BABY!
I LOVE PREDNISONE
SWALLOW IT DOWN AND BREATHE WITH ME!

Bless drugs so hard. Things I do not sound like this morning:

A Geiger counter
A cat vainly trying to hack up a hairball
An untuned chorus of squeaky mattress springs
A radio channel of static

I even slept pretty well! It is miraculous.

Now for a relaxing day of watching Festivids, picking at all the housework I've let slide, and narcissitically refreshing for new comments on my vids. :)

So very tired, yes, though I slept tons better last night. This morning I tried to do Some of the Things, to address the problem of having done None of the Things for a while, and my body noped right out of that.

But at least I got my meds! I felt so bad complaining after hearing of your insurance woes. I hope the authorization comes through for you pronto.

Thank you! Doing mostly nothing yesterday was a big help, I think, as did sleeping last night like I was in a coma. I've said it before and I'll say it again: I love modern medicine. :D
