Exhibit A: Wondering what I'm missing with a recent XKCD, Magic Words:
Then stumbling across an exquisitely thorough explanation, and in fact an entire website devoted to such information, Explain XKCD.
Though now that I think about, the intersection of word nerdery, humor, and linguistic information imparted was rather delightful in a, well, satisfying way. Perhaps it was a bit of Rule 34 after all.
