Last weekend, the Emperor woke up Saturday morning with a fever of 102. The convienent care doc said it was a virus going around, and that were would probably be some tummy troubles as well. And yes, yes there were, but mercifully only for a day, and only a few times. All that, and he didn't have an ear infection. *relief*

It made me so damned grateful that we seem to be over That Period, where he was getting sick a couple of times a month, and we spent more time in doctors' offices than anywhere fun, and the antibiotics and the Benedryl and the nebulizer...none of which he would put up with now. Even with a high temp and obvious feelings of Sick, he still wouldn't take any oral Tylenol. I don't think he believed us that if he wouldn't let it go down one end, it would go up the other. Heh. The suppositories sure brought that fever down quickly.

Of course, the remaining ongoing issues is the glasses. He's been living with scratched lenses for months, as we got really tired of replacing them so quickly. This morning, though, his glasses were broken again, in the same damned place as before, snapped right above where the front joins the side piece, above the screws. Nyargh. At least the timing is ironically appreciated, as Al's temp job runs out today, so he'll be at leisure to take the Emperor in to Lenscrafters tomorrow. (Yet another place we've spent far too much time in...)

I'm currently assigned to two projects at work, both pretty big. I just switched off coding for one to another, but I'm being held up by not having any data in the 8 new tables. The guy who's supposed to be filling those tables just snottily told me that I could fill in a couple of orders myself if I needed the data. No, deadbeat, that's _your_ job. It wasn't just the "here, have some work that isn't yours" falling in my lap, but the condescending "it shouldn't be any big deal" with which it was delivered that really ticked me off. If it wasn't a big deal, why haven't you done it already? NYARGH!

Right now, I am cranktastic, thankyouverymuch, and wishing I was home on the couch, watching SG:A (crackilicious candy, thanks to [livejournal.com profile] samwize) and eating fricking bon-bons. (Or, you know, thinking about eating bon-bons but actually eating boring veggies because the weight thing is also making me cranky.)

It's not that any one incident is bad, but the whole stack of them is grinding me down.

On the plus side, though, you all rock AND roll for the supportive comments from a week and a bit back. I would have responded to the coments, but...see above sickness and work craziness. I figured that my rantings would have dropped off your radars by now, and I didn't want you to think that I didn't appreciate you. Thanks!
