*razzer-frazzer* ladyparts

My birthday was on Monday (at least my period spared me that joy), and it was nice slow day, with a flood of Facebook greetings (at the very least, it can do that right). I was in a perfect state of mind, where everything that people did for me was a nice surprise and not something that was due me. I may yet be tipping over into grace as I get older. *grin*
The actual day was preceded by a weekend of fun. A group joined me for teppanyaki on Saturday, where our chef was something of a goof and perhaps a little unorthodox in his prep order, but we certainly appreciated the gobs of butter that went into everything. It was quite tasty. Then half the group adjourned to watch movies and eat cake at a friend's house, and lo, there were many leftovers. *urp*
We watched "Red" Saturday night and "Easy A" Sunday, both of which were delightfully breezy comedies, just what I was looking for. Monday night my husband watched "Salt" with me, which was also enjoyable in an action-thriller, "gosh I could watch Angelina Jolie kick ass all day" kind of way. We also enjoyed the comedic stylings of the Animaniacs Sunday, with my birthday present of three DVD sets of the show. It's dated, yes, but it brings back a ton of memories of the group of us in college gathering in the afternoons to watch.
But the best present on Monday was the Emperor having a fabulous day at school. He said he intended it as a gift to me, and it was wonderful, especially considering it was his first day back from the week of Spring Break. The days since then have almost been as good, which is amazing.
We had his third Building Intervention Team meeting a few weeks back, which finally got the ball rolling on ordering evaluations for him (which should have been ordered after the first freaking meeting back in the fall, grrr), and according the announcement I got today, his IEP meeting is set for May 12. Way too late to benefit his current teacher, but hopefully enough time to get a plan in place for next fall.
I think I will treat myself to another glass of wine and then off to bed. G'night, all.
