I had a birthday back there at the end of March, and then I got sucked into RL for a while. (Helped plan a baby shower, had food to prep, supplies to pack...all things that resulted in being AFK.)

With that gap, I have been grossly remiss in not posting pictorial evidence of the insanely amazing birthday cake [livejournal.com profile] leiaorgana_73 commissioned for me because she loves me bunches and bunches.

Are you ready?

SG fans must click. Seriously. Only personal delivery by one of my celebrity crushes could have improved this cake. )

Bonus points if you can tell what the Ancient script says. (She even hunted down Ancient script to encode that for me. I don't deserve her.)

The fact that it was one of the tastiest damn cakes ever didn't hurt, either.

Hey, [livejournal.com profile] leiaorgana_73? YOU ROCK THE CASBAH.

Evidently ABC has uncurdled their Scrooge McAsshole hearts just enough to let us see the last three episodes of 'Pushing Daisies'. This is no way makes up for canceling the show, but it's some small relief.

In other news, Tahmoh Penikett has been cast in 'Riverworld', one of several SciFi "upcoming movie events that will serve as trials for possible new series". I guess this means he's potentially covered if 'Dollhouse' is canceled. At the very least, more Tahmoh on my small screen! \o/ I must admit, though, that I really didn't like the series it's based on - sorry if that makes me a bad sci-fi fan.

Speaking of bad sci-fi...I just stumbled across a wonderful fanfic set in the Buckaroo Banzai universe, Buckaroo Banzai and the Floydada Scuffle. If you loved the movie half as much as I did, go read it. (I completely did not know that the creators had come out with new adventures as well. Now to track those down...)
