More on new TV
Oct. 11th, 2007 10:03 pmI tuned in to "The Big Bang Theory" because it had Johnny Galecki and geeks as main characters. I didn't expect much, because it was a sitcom, and I didn't think anything could measure up to "How I Met Your Mother". More than anything, it was going to be my throwaway show, the sacrificial lamb to my curse.
But...it's cute! The guys are clever and adorkable (I mean, I've been to school with guys like these), Barenaked Ladies did the theme song, and yeah, I may have started to like it. Then they brought in Sara Gilbert as a (momentary) love interest for Galecki's character. Dude. Darlene and David together again! I squealed, I really did. They flirted in complete geek speak -- I really wish I could find a transcript of it because it was GENIUS -- and smooched. Alas, no arousal on her part. I'm hoping the character comes back for another episode.
And then there was "Pushing Daisies". The pilot won my heart. The second episode sealed my fate. Kristin Chenowith? Singing "Hopelessly Devoted to You" and dancing all over the Pie Hole? To a dog who rolled over for a tummy rub? DEAD BY CUTENESS. And the dialogue -- "Half-secret, half-human babies". *snerk* I will clutch this show to my bosom (you know, metaphorically) and cherish it for the (probably extremely limited) run it has left.
Really! A fuzzy dog tummy! And she rubbed it! *JOY*
Still watching "Chuck", "Reaper", HIMYM, "Heroes", "Bionic Woman", "Moonlight", and "Stargate: Atlantis". (Eep! No wonder I'm getting nothing done at night!) I'm wondering how many of them are going to make it through a whole season, and how many will return next year.
