I'm beginning to wonder if I mortally offended someone, who then put a curse on my family.
My husband, who went in for knee surgery to remove a torn meniscus three weeks ago, is still on crutches and healing super slowly. 'Tis inconvenient and worrisome.
My procedure on Monday involved us being at the hospital almost the whole day for something that was supposed to take about an hour (among other things, they couldn't find a vein for the IV, couldn't find the anesthesiologist, and couldn't find the doctor). I was pumped full enough of the good drugs that it took until the next morning for the ow to hit. I wound up staying home Tuesday, trying in vain to make my work laptop open up PDFs in Internet Explorer. Irritating.
Last night, as I was heading to bed, a small voice from upstairs informed me, "Mommy, I just threw up all over my bed." And boy howdy, did he ever. Cleaning him up and getting him settled in my bed with enough protection, and ferrying all the bedding downstairs to the laundry, took both parents. Then the poor Emperor couldn't fall asleep and spent the next several hours tossing, turning, and running to the bathroom. I think I got to sleep about 3:30 AM, and back up at 7:30 AM to inform his school he wouldn't be in and my workplace that I would be late. Gross and tiring.
Is it too late to hibernate away the rest of winter?
