This wasn't supposed to happen...again.

Got back from my prenatal this afternoon.
After three ultrasounds, two with a heartbeat, today's results...weren't. The baby died sometime last week at about 10 1/2 weeks.
I go in for a D&C Monday.
Thank God for my husband and the Emperor.

Date: 2013-02-06 05:13 pm (UTC)I hope it's okay that I pass on a little info I just learned from my doctor; it might be useful for you.
When you next go in to your doc (and if you haven't already), you may want to get a blood test to check your MTHFR (methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase) genetic status. My doctor told me about it; she found out it because she's been treating someone who hasn't been able to carry a child to full-term. Turns out the patient has the MTHFR defect (which means they can't process folic acid properly) and a bleeding disorder, which increased her chances of not being able to carry the baby to term.
Thing is, it can be fixed with a secondary version of folic acid, not the standard kind. As soon as she put her patient on the secondary version, the patient got pregnant, and just recently gave birth.
My doctor told me because I've been having problems absorbing the conventional formula of vitamin B12 (which is much like/works together with folic acid), and tested me, and I have the defect. It's pretty prevalent; about 30% of the population has it. As soon as she put me on the new version of folic acid and B12, lots of things have straightened out with my physiology.
Wishing you well and thinking good thoughts for you. ::hugs::
