What I would really love right about now is a substitute Responsible Adult to fill in for me. I'm starting to feel like one of the protective boulders at the bottom of a Space Invaders screen, that takes all the hits from both sides and gets worn down to nothing.
My Monday consisted of:
To top it off, the dentist this morning recommended that the husband have all his teeth pulled and replaced, because the bottom molars are too damaged to save.
Can somebody else step in as the mom, just for a bit?
My Monday consisted of:
Searching around for the Emperor's bag of swim gear, only to realize that it was left at school when the husband picked him up Friday.
Being 15 minutes late to work as a result.
Finishing up a project at work that's been my main focus for the last month, and feeling like I could breathe easy again.
Being informed by the husband's phone call a few minutes later that he has to resubmit his unemployment paperwork because he missed his call-in date and forgot his password, and that he can't possibly work on it without me.
Staying late to make up the time, dropping by the library to pick up some movies, getting home to find dinner made (YAY) and the Emperor whining (BOO).
Finishing dinner, deciding to work on cleaning up the loft and the Emperor's vast collection of toys before bedtime. Getting interrupted by the Emperor wanting to help. (Translation: make what I was doing take twice as long.)
Getting through bedtime. Sitting down to finally relax. Getting called by work literally a minute later with a problem.
Going into work, diagnosing the problem, tracking down people to help me fix the problem, spending the next two hours on the goddamn phone to five different people to do something that should have taken a minute.
Getting home and immediately having to help the husband with his paperwork.
Finally falling into bed at 1 AM.

Date: 2010-07-22 05:16 am (UTC)I saw this earlier and I didn't have time to say so, but I'm sorry you had a lousy day. I hope this week has been looking up for you. <3

Date: 2010-07-22 02:11 pm (UTC)My week improved dramatically once I got a night or two of more sleep. It's something I've learned to watch out for: when I start thinking things "I'm really tired of X, Y, and Z", it usually just means "I'm really tired."
