Keeping busy

I took today off to try to whittle down my to-do list, especially in preparation for going out of town this weekend. I feel lucky that the weather outside is being agreeably sunny and dry, compared to the soggy grey we've had this past week. It's also helpful for me to keep busy because...
My brother is currently in surgery to remove a large cancerous mass from his colon, found just last week during a colonoscopy, and to biopsy a similar tumor in his liver. If all goes well, he won't have to have an ostomy bag installed and will simply have his colon resectioned, to be followed up with chemo. If you have any energy/prayers/good thoughts to spare, please send some his way.
Seriously, fuck cancer. He's only 46, with two teenagers and a life he's getting back on track. He really didn't need this.
