I may be a little bit excited to be so close to done with this week. :)
First and foremost, it means the end of this OMGWTFBBQ GoTo shift. I mean, I thought they were exaggerating when they said that I shouldn't count on getting any assignments done while covering goto. It turns out they weren't alarming enough! At least most of the developers in my current team have been really gracious and prompt about helping me. I could have done without looking quite so publicly ineffective RIGHT before the annual reviews are written up, though. *sigh* My fellow remote coworker comes back from a week-long vacation Monday to assume the goto mantle; between the emails I've copied him on and the rate of requests I've been fielding, he's gonna be swamped.
With all the stress of the past couple months, I had to give up on my vague intention to make an entry for Club Vivid. I still have an eye on an idea for a Premiere, so I need to kick my ass into gear and get going on that.
As a last minute reward for surviving this week, I bought a Saturday ticket for C2E2 and a photo op with Ming-Na Wen and Hayley Atwell! \o/ I'd also like to get Stan Lee's autograph - the man is 92, I don't think he'll be making it to many more cons - and maybe a couple others, so I'll have to see how it all shakes out. I'm still dithering if I want to queue up early for the first panel so I'm guaranteed a seat for the Kick-ass Women of S.H.I.E.L.D. show with Atwell and Wen that's several hours later, or if I should try to knock out my autograph plans first and then line up. Fangirl problems, eh? :) I'm a little bit sad that I wasn't able to finagle anyone into attending with me; I haven't done a con completely solo in a very long time. It would have been nice to have a buddy to save seats during food and bathroom breaks, but at least I can keep my own schedule.
Wish me luck, and have a lovely weekend, all!
