Neil Gaiman comes to my hometown!

I was just browsing the feed from Neil Gaimain's blog. From his latest post, I saw that he'll be touring for his latest book, "The Graveyard Game", in the fall. I was idly skimming the locations when my eye hit one entry and I had to check, re-check, and triple-check, just to make sure I wasn't hallucinating.

Thursday, October 2nd–
Chapter 3 Chicago, IL
6pm Tivoli Theatre, hosted by Andersons Bookshop
5021 Highland Ave
Downers Grove, IL 60515
Contact: Becky Anderson Phone: (630) 355-2665
Note: The venue is a beautifully restored 1920s movie palace with seating for 1000. This will be a ticketed event, 1 ticket = 1 book. After the reading and Q&A, ‘Stardust’ will be shown.

HOLY CRAP! I can't tell you how many movies I've seen at the Tiv, and he is so right: the place is gorgeous. The fact that he's doing the signing and showing 'Stardust' there seems to me to be a message from Fate telling me that I need to get my ass back home for this event. (Also, that I need to sign up for the Anderson's schedule, so I know when I should get my mom to go stand in line for me for other authors...)

It would have to be a Thursday evening. Hm. Must ponder vacation schedule.

Other random thought: I need a book icon. Or a Sandman/Gaiman icon. Or both.

We should be there.

Well, I know where I'll be that evening. :)

And yes, the Tivoli is a fantastic venue. I've seen a ton of movies there since moving up here.
