Brains are dumb and made of meat. Where have I been for (checks last post, grimacing) a year and a half? Nowhere, just not here. Unlike the last time I went for an extended posting break, I haven't even been keeping up with DW. I think I got overwhelmed, or stuck in my own broken headspace, or something.

Awkward is...

Trying to gently point out to your boss that passing around a bereavement card for an employee whose child died in a drowning accident, when said card has a waterfall on the cover, is perhaps not ideal.

I'm very glad that I didn't even have to get very far into it before she gasped and took it back.

Unfortunately, the last card in her stash also had a stock image of water. I guess tears=>water, meaning it's a common theme for bereavement.

I think I'm gonna go home and hug the stuffing out of the Emperor tonight.

Brain go SPLODE!

Inspired by

sheafrotherdon's recent Festival of Hands, an ode to the hands of Sheppard and McKay on "Stargate: Atlantis" (do not taunt happy fun fangirls), I cracked under the weight of a vicious plot bunny and wrote a fic. An actual, "get the hell out of my brain and into words" fic. It's slashy and ridiculous, and I feel giddy and exposed and embarrassed.

For those of you that do this all the damned time, I salute you.
