I think that most of us were terrible at flirting and worse at picking up on signals. The process of dating was just so weird at IMSA. There was just no way to say, “Hey, let’s go out on a date.” It always had to be these immediate going steady situations. You were then with that person non-stop until you wanted to kill each other, and on top of that there was the total lack of privacy. It was a terrible situation for awkward geeks surging with hormones.
