The latest missive from my *head-asploding* Republican Rep:
On Wednesday October 16th I supported and the House passed a bill to avoid default and reopen the federal government. While I am opposed to Obamacare, I never supported a government shutdown.Riiiiiight. Except for the fact that you did absolutely nothing to stop it.
A government shutdown should have never been an option. Throughout the last three weeks the House passed multiple bills to reopen parts of the government, only to be met with a Senate and President who were unwilling to work with us. I am very disappointed that the President and Congressional leaders took sixteen days to come together, have discussions and find common ground to end the government shutdown and avoid default."Can I burn down your house? YOU AREN'T COMPROMISING!"
We need to stop this government by crisis and get back to a constitutional appropriations process. The bill I supported does this by forming a budget conference committee, which gives us the chance to take a common sense and responsible approach to control spending and come up with a long term solution to our nation's fiscal crisis. You know a great way to get back to obeying the Constitution AND spend my money effectively and efficiently? Stop spending all this time trying to sink Obamacare and women's access to health care and GOVERN THIS FUCKING COUNTRY.
There is a lot of work ahead but I am eager to work my colleagues in the House of Representative to find solutions to help ensure that Washington is spending your hard earned money effectively and efficiently.
