I totally agree that fan cons are superior; I had an amazing time at Shore Leave several years back. (I wish it was closer!) Alas that fan-run events, at least those with celeb guests, seem to be a dying breed.

Alex Zahara is a hoot; he's got such a great sense of humor, and an amazing run as a character actor with lots of stories to tell. :)
