I think I'm back up to 90% brain right now - last week I was up at my company's main HQ for training. Well, ostensibly I was there for training, but what I really got out of it was re-re-formatting my new laptop (actually new this time, and not someone's 3-year-old castoff). The first re- dumbed it down from Windows 7 to XP (because the PC support people up there just do that, for Reasons), and then re-re-ed it myself back up to Windows 7, so I can run the same software as the other web developers. Shocking! So the trainers helped me and my coworker to install everything back on our machines to match their configurations. Whee!

I had a good time up there; having a hotel room to myself is weird/nice/quiet, after years of cons (cramming multiple women in a room) and family vacations. I didn't get as much down time as I was expecting, between dinners out and abusing the hotel wifi to download updates, and I'm still behind on email and DW/LJ.

Now I'll be back in the office with a fully-functioning computer, as will my new coworker. He's been at the company for a freaking MONTH, and only now has an actual work machine. So I'll be training him and triaging the work load. Monday ahoy!

I really, really want to see Joss' "Much Ado about Nothing", which reminded me that I hadn't gotten around to seeing David Tennant and Catherine Tate's version, either. So I procured a copy of that. It's amusing, and the 80s styling is clever, and Tennant and Tate have undeniable chemistry, but...I dunno. Something about it just isn't grabbing me.

However, I have a question for the more literate and stage-worldly readers: has anyone ever done a telling of it where the reason why Don Jon is such a dick is sexual jealousy, where he wants Claudio but it's not allowed?

Also, I would love, LOVE a version of Much Ado set in a high school, either with the original language or updated, like "Ten Things I Hate about You".

...C'mon, internet, make it so!
